Repercussions

My dearwe is ignoring me... haiz... but i guess this is nobody's fault but my own!
Anyway, my perfect plan of using the freaking 10 days to think it out totally crashed out on me... was in an emotional turmoil thru out my trip...

i simply love him la... cant stand the thought of life without his presence...

Relationships are bound to be wrought with feelings that are positive or negative... at least they're passionate emotions. If one day, there're totally nothing left to feel except pity... maybe then... ...

What is love?

Haiz, love is so intangible... cannot be measured physically... but yet my life revolves around it...

why do i feel the way i feel? damn...
think i'm comparing him with other more romantic and more thoughtful guys...
then again, since i myself is not the bake-brownies-cook-ten-course-dinner-for-bf kind of gal, how can i expect him to be a lovey-dovey boy at my beck and call...

always tot that this is not a problem.. i think it's still not.. is it?
haiz.. damn, everything keeps goin round and round and there's no answer...

i keep giving him the cold shoulder.. so wat does it mean?
is it bcos i dun love him anymore? got no more feelings for him?
or is it bcos i'm unhappy with certain issues and i'm showing it in my behaviour towards him?
but if that's the case, then wat am i unhappy with?
small things, big things, issues that were never issues before but have jus risen out of nowhere now and have decidedly become a big factor in the success of the relationship..
damn..

think i'm like julia robert's character in "Runaway Bride"... in terms of mentality that is..
running away at the very last moment when she's walking up the aisle..
with the exception that i'm not getting married (nor any time soon)..
think i'm turning my back on him cos the thought of our future rushes at me and it's jus very creepy... i mean for god's sake.. this lady here(ME) havent even got a freaking job.. and i'm supposed to be thinking about how i can help my husband in his business nex time..
damn, getting angry as i typed.. haha how feelings change.. i was supposed to be feeling kinda confused.. gotta be my hormones at work, creating chaos in my brain... as if i dun have enough in my head to deal with!

hmmm... or is it bcos he's my first... there's always the tempting thought that there's someone out there for me that's goin to be even more suitable than him? but like my fren told me, if i get married nex time, i would have to be committed to the relationship so i guess stray thoughts are not goin to help the marriage is it?

but.. i'm not married now wat!!!!
argh.. that's a terrible thought rite (condemn myself)

so he's goin on another 6 months IA in december... i'm supposed to wait for him.. i mean willingly la of cos..
why can't we jus leave it to fate?

all these time... no one has really attempted to go after me.. cos i'm labelled "attached" (chopped onto my head)

but i have a number of crushes.. like i'll imagine wat it'll be like with another guy.. then scenes of us pak-tor-ing will play in my head like a movie.. of cos minus the quarrels that a real relationship brings..

is this normal? they're not premonitions that this current relationship i have is doomed is it?

argh... i'm not making sense liao.... haiz... think i'll go with my original plans: which is to procrastinate! haha... well, i'll give myself 10 days of break.. go china.. dun think too much.. come back and see how..
i mean, issues such as these cant be rationalized into problem sums and expect to have a formula to follow and correct answers...

Brand new start

Started this blog initially as a form of communication with my bf during his 6 months exchange in Seattle. So you'll see alot of photos and alot of mushy messages to him... but i've decided to do up my blog properly. Partly due to my newly unemployed status (read: occupation)... got tons of time on my hand so decided to do some constructive things. Inspired mainly by my "brother" Rockie, cos i was looking thru his blog entries and i found out more abt him that i wouldnt have known otherwise. So i guess this is a good avenue for frens to know more abt me and also as an online diary for me to record down my thoughts...

My ambitious goal now is to try to recapture my thoughts on the 3 weeks plus in China and 4 days in Bangkok. Written them down in a journal... so the hard part now is to try and shift them onto the blog. Wish me luck...

Note: But since my biggest character flaw is nua-ness.. the nex blog entry will probably be eons from now! :P

Casinos in Singapore

heh... dunno whether you've read the singapore papers but this is the biggest news yet!! share with you an article from "today"..

SINGAPORE is to make an all-out bid to re-invent itself as an exciting tourist destination by building not one but two resort complexes that will each have — as a small but critical component — a casino.

The dropping of a 40-year casino ban did not come as a surprise to many but Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong nonetheless took pains to explain why his Government was taking this calculated bet twice over.

In Parliament yesterday, PM Lee said: "This is a judgement, not a mathematical calculation. We see the trends and feel the need to move. Whichever way we decide, there are risks. If we proceed, the integrated resorts may not succeed or the social fallout may be worse than we expect. If we do not proceed, we are at serious risk of being left behind by other cities."

He said critics are "mistaken" to think that it was a done deal right from the start, as most of his Cabinet ministers were originally against an integrated resort-and-casino idea — let alone two.

But their views gradually shifted when they had a better understanding of how these complexes work.
Some of the 19 conceptual proposals submitted were of "high quality", and that was when the ministers knew they had to "take the bids very seriously". Even then, the ministers "were still not unanimous" when they voted at a meeting on April 9.

They first decided on whether to have an integrated resort-and-casino at all, and then whether to have one or two.
Indeed, why two?
Firstly, the resorts — at Sentosa and Marina Bayfront — will attract different crowds, said Mr Lee.
While the Sentosa project will target families and tourists, the Marina Bayfront site will pull in the business and convention crowd.

Casino operators — many of whom say they will build their Asia flagship project here — were not deterred by the competition, he said.
Most said they "would not reduce" their investments if Singapore issued two licences.
Said Mr Lee: "Some even preferred two projects, because this would create critical mass and attract more visitors. This showed that they were not worried about competing for a finite local market. They intend to grow the market."
The Cabinet, he added, "seriously considered" banning Singaporeans altogether from gambling in the integrated resorts, but decided against it as rich Singaporeans can simply go to overseas casinos.
Further, investors said they needed some local business even if this was not their main market.
Hence, a slew of social safeguards — including admission fees and an exclusion system — will be put in place for Singaporeans.

Along with that, the Government will set up a national framework to address problem gambling, including a National Council on Gambling.
As GK Goh economist Song Seng Wun said: "This is Singapore's next leg of growth. It has to diversify and look for as many growth drivers as possible. If not, we can be held hostage to technology cycles, as seen in pharmaceutical products."

The business community also welcomed the move to have two casinos.
Ms Jannie Tay, CEO of The Hour Glass, said: "I have visited places with casinos like Korea and Melbourne, where the casinos have helped the places become tourism destinations. There is a market out there with the newly rich from India and China who have made a quick buck and want somewhere to spend it in style."

Top 10 updates in NTU

Hihi dearwe.. ! Decided to update you on the lately happenings in NTU so that you wun feel so lost when you're back... No pics though :( but dun worry.. it's chock full of information!! wahaha...

Number 1 on the list, we have.... *drum roll*

1) MPE has offcially changed its name to MAE (School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering) Yesh... a new name a new beginning. It takes a while to get used to though.

According to the dean's message: "The School has recently been refitted with a new name following the inception of a new division in Aerospace Engineering. This new division launches the Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering, yada yada..."

haha.. his message very long, can go to the MAE website if you're interested in reading more...

2) NTU will be converting to the GPA system also known as Grade Point Average. If i'm not wrong, it's on a scale of 4... the higher the better! Supposed to be more transparent with regards to where each student stand with their grades. Looking at the grades, everyone will roughly know whether they are 1st or 2nd class standard...

3) Tuition fees has been increased by 5% per year, not only NTU.. for NUS and SMU too...

4) The shuttle bus route B is changed to a new route... it no longers goes on the loop around NIE.. the bus will cut thru in between hall 12 and NIE and continue to hall 8-11. Heh, you probably dun really care for this since you no need to take shuttle bus! haha, but very hard to say.. scarly your motorbike gone-ded!! *touch wood*

5) All the mouse (as in the computer mouse) in Lib 1 are changed to infra-red ones!! Finally!! *Hallelujah*

6) 2 rows of old red computer chairs in Lib 1 are changed to comfy blue ones! Can roll around somemore!! But got to fight for a space cos only got 2 rows..

7) The Annex at the top of the hill (remember we went up there to the SAO before?), it's name is changed to Student Services Centre now... Sounds fake eh...

8) There's a new cafe called "Cafe Al Fresco" jus next to this "Student Services Centre"... Think it's a similar concept to Coffee Club... Literally have tables right out in the sun.. think got those sun umbrellas also... haha.. i havent been there though.. seems quite far away.. *lazy.. muahaha*

9) McDonald's is still around.. *Hurrah* ...

10) Sadly, "Burnz" in Canteen 13 change boss liao, heard that the western food not so great now... *boo hoo... no more mixed grill for dearwe liao!!*

Alright, that sums up my top 10 list.. heh heh.. hope it's not too dry for u!
Tata for now, me love!!!
